Our farms & gardens serve as outdoor classrooms to inspire, excite and educate students. All of our gardens start with 5 raised beds, with the goal of progressing into full outdoor classrooms. Featuring installments such as in-ground gardens, native plants, pollinator borders, fruit orchards, and compost bins, our gardens are living laboratories, ideal for hands-on learning to take place. Throughout the year, our team of educator and farmers, alongside hundreds of volunteers, maintain the gardens -- watering, weeding and rotating crops -- so they are lesson ready for our students.
This generous sponsorship provides necessary funding for The Green Heart Project to activate, operate, and maintain a school garden at one of our partner sites for one year. It helps to cover the cost of garden materials, supplies, garden planning, coordination & operations!
