Our Farm to School programs provide an opportunity for students to learn about the connection between our food, our health and the environment through hands-on gardening and culinary activities. Our lessons cover topics like food origin and production, environmental impact, health of our bodies and ecosystems and the role that culture plays in shaping our food systems and what we eat. Additionally, students develop interpersonal skills as they work with our garden educators and volunteer mentors to grow, maintain, harvest and cook garden-fresh food!
This generous sponsorship provides necessary funding for The Green Heart Project to facilitate a school-based program for one year at one of our partner sites. It helps to cover the cost of educational materials used during lessons, as well as curriculum development & program support!
